Our Story
Surf n Slice originated as a passion project, evolving into something far greater. When I moved from Boston to Los Angeles in 2018, I realized the scarcity of east coast slice shops, total bummer! Pizza has always had the magical power of bringing people together, stirring up fiery debates, and uniting souls from every corner of the world. So, naturally, I took matters into my own hands.
I started the wild Surf n Slice journey, immersing myself in books on French baking, Italian baking, and the fascinating science behind fermentation. Thousands of hours and Countless nights were spent perfecting dough recipes like a mad pizza scientist. And every time I crafted a new creation, I'd eagerly sneak into my friend’s apartment at the ungodly hour of 5 am, and drop a freshly baked pizza right onto his pillow. Talk about a wake-up call! I needed his reviews, you know?
But Surf n Slice is more than just pizza. At the core of Surf n Slice lies the desire to foster connections through pizza, surfing, and pure enjoyment. Regardless of who you are, where you've come from, or where you're headed, as long as you arrive with the spirit of Aloha (a Hawaiian essence encompassing love, peace, compassion, and a mutual understanding of respect), you'll be guaranteed a front row seat at the Surf n Slice table!
At Surf n Slice, we create our pizzas in small batches from our home base in Los Angeles. Our secret to incredible flavor lies in our dough, which undergoes 48-72 hours of fermentation. This process produces pizzas that are light, airy, and bursting with flavor.
